Rescue personnel forced to carry walker for one and a quarter hours.
Local news Totana, rescue services rescue injured walker
Proteccion Civil in Totana were called out yesterday following a fall in the Morron Chico in which a walker fractured his leg in several places and was in a position which could not be accessed by rescue helicopter personnel.
The incident occurred at 2.30, and it took rescue walkers one and a quarter hours to climb up to the remote spot in which the walker had fallen, and the same amount of time to carry him down to a point which was accessible by a rescue vehicle.
Helicopter rescue had proved impossible due to poor visibility and the dangerous rock formations in the area where the walker had lost his footing.
And the moral of the story is always carry a mobile phone when walking in remote locations.
