La Catedral Restaurant Cartagena Spain
La Catedral is a stylish Café Bar and Restaurant, tucked away behind the Roman Theatre Museum in Cartagena.
It skilfully combines it´s historical heritage with a chic, modern feel, and has some fascinating features such as a glass floor, which enable visitors to see original remains of Roman Cartagena beneath their feet.
The building itself is at the foot of the historical Cathedral of Cartagena, a building which is due to undergo renovation within the next few months after being virtually destroyed during the Civil war, and which is entwined with the Roman Theatre itself.
The whole structure has been lovingly restored by owner, Pablo Cerezuela, who first worked in the bar at the age of 17, then purchased the building at the age of 30. It took 9 years of painstaking work to restore the building and the new look La Catedral was finally opened early in 2011.

Palenque Restaurant Puerto De mazarron
Palenque is known in Spanish as the Palenque Barbacoa Argentina, the Argentinian Barbeque Restaurant, as although it serves a wide variety of dishes is famed for its sizzling meats, steaks and barbeque grilled meats.
It´s gained an excellent reputation for offering quality meats cooked " a la brasa", ie over hot coals and also has a ceramic pizza oven in which it produces good quality pizzas.
The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating areas, so in the summer, most of the diners eat in the outdoor covered area, and in the winter, the atmosphere is more intimate and warmer, with wooden beamed ceilings and warm colours creating a cosy and friendly space.

Restaurant Los Habaneros Cartagena Spain
The Hotel Los Habaneras is centrally situated in Cartagena, opposite the Punic Wall Interpretation Centre, just 90 metres from the Bus Station and 300 metres from the Train Station.
Whilst it´s a comfortable, well appointed and practical hotel for both tourist and business travellers, it´s also an extremely useful place to know about for those looking for practical and realistically priced meals in Cartagena.
There are 3 distinct catering zones:
An all day Cafeteria serving drinks, tapas and main meals. An oudoor covered seating area with the same options. An A la Carte Restaurant and function room.
Menu del Día and Menu de Noche.
It´s often difficult to find a decent Menu del Día in tourism driven Cities, those who are involved in tourism activities simply wanting a filling and reasonably priced meal that won´t break the bank. The Hotel offers a filling and practical Menu del Día at midday and a Menu de Noche in the evening for 10.90 euros ( Summer 2011) between Monday and Saturday. It´s a standard Menu, with Salad, starter, main course and dessert with drink included.
Having eaten there both at lunchtime and the evening, it´s a practical and nicely presented meal served in very nice surroundings, a step up from a white tiled bar serving similar fayre at similar prices.
The Menu de Noche is also excellent value for those who want to come in for a concert and not pay out for A la Carte.

Restaurante Castillo del Pinar
The Restaurante Castillo del Pinar is one of those special places which are only discovered by word of mouth, as it´s hidden away in the rolling countryside of the Cartagena municipality, far from the beaten track.
It´s also somewhere which many of its patrons prefer to keep to themselves, rather than risk it being over-run, preferring to whip it out of the hat when visitors arrive, enjoying the exclamations of surprise when arriving at the location.
The main dining area is in a former salon of the house, and there are several different function rooms and other areas available to accommodate groups and parties, with catering available for a large number of guests according to the occasion.
The food is lovingly prepared using local ingredients and influences, with a good selection of local fish dishes , and there are one or two surprises on the menu as well, including hazelnut ice cream on the dessert menu.
There is an A la carte menu on offer permanently, and at lunchtime the Castillo offers a Menu del dia.
