Marise Checa Dog Rescue
Our Rescue Centre has been in existence for almost five years, helping stray and abandoned dogs from Caravaca, Cehegin and Surrounding areas. The work was begun originally by Marise Checa, a lady from Caravaca, and is now continued by a small dedicated group of Spanish volunteers who give up much of their spare time to the cause. The Mayor of Cehegin has temporarily given us a small, abandoned house with some land for the housing of the animals, but this has no electricity and no running water. All water supplies have to be carried up to the Centre in bottles ! As with many Rescue Centres voluntary donations are the sole means of support, no alternative financial help is available, and resources are stretched to their limits. Nevertheless, all of the dogs are cared for, fed and watered, medical attention is received whenever needed, and they are exercised daily by the die hard volunteers, in all weathers (and yes it does rain and snow in Spain) ! It is important to note that ALL of the dogs are:- • fully vaccinated • wormed regularly • walked on a lead • fed dried dog food • VERY FRIENDLY and SOCIABLE, both with people and other dogs. If a dog is adopted we will happily arrange for it to be spayed / neutered FREE of charge. One of our major problems is the lack of space. The Rescue Centre is full to bursting and no more dogs can be helped at this time unless we can find homes for our current residents.

Noahs Arc
Noah's Arc is a registered animal rescue charity in the Murcia region of Spain created to rescue injured and badly treated animals. The main focus has been on dogs. Whilst we currently can only take in dogs we always try to help with any injured animal. It is our intention to build more relationships with other specialist animal charities throughout Europe to ensure that we can help re home more animals. Noah's Arc have rescued animals that are now ready for re homing, and each one is carefully assessed for its suitability according to you circumstances. We are now able to send our dogs to most European destinations quite quickly with all the necessary paperwork and treatment, so if you live outside Spain and would like to have one of our beautiful dogs, contact us and we will give you a breakdown of the cost according to your countries requirements. Noah's Arc dogs have all been thoroughly cared for by our team of specialist vets and most are less than two years old. Many were strays found in the local area, some have had and injury, or been involved in a road accident. Each dog will have details of any injuries they may have listed underneath each dog along with details of the dogs character once you have clicked on the picture. Noah's Arc are dependant on donations from the public, and money raised in our two shops at Puerto de Mazarron and Fuente Alamo. The shops, which are run by volunteers, sell donated items such as clothes, furniture and bric-a-brac. We also raise funds by organising social events such as auctions, BBQ's and fetes. Though we do have some sponsors we are constantly looking for more local businesses to become involved. Full details of dogs available for re-homing can be found on our website, together with information about animal care, fundraising events and our sponsorship packages.
