The Maharajah's Palace in the Puerto de Mazarron prides itself on attention to detail and on delivering a quality product at very realistic prices.
All the food is prepared using home ground spices, blended to create unique combinations of flavours which give the dishes their own special character, the ethos being to deliver real food, not "modified" dishes or sauces out of catering tins, this is as authentic as it gets.
Fresh herbs and spices are prepared to order and great care is given to the presentation of the food.
The chef is from the Punjab, but has a versatile repertoire of dishes.
Attention to detail starts from the moment you enter the restaurant, with quality linen, flowers on the tables and glasses polished to a sparkle, with customer satisfaction as important as the food. We noticed beer glasses were frosted prior to serving, and the kitchen was immaculate.
And they serve both Kingfisher and Cobra beers!
However, quality aside, the restaurant aims to be busy and offers top value for money options for those on a budget:
Open 7 days a week, lunchtime menus are very attractively priced with a 2 course set lunch for only 5.95 or a 4 course meal for only 9.95 with drinks included.
All the dishes on offer are made following the same strict rules about freshness and authenticity and the quality and quantity of the food is excellent.
In the evenings diners can choose from the a la carte menu, or a 12.95 set menu option, which gives popadum, starter and main course with rice or Naan bread or special all in meal options for couples or groups, which represent excellent value.
Take-aways are also available, discounted at 10% off the restaurant prices.
