Totana, the XXII Milla Urbana "Ciudad de Totana , 17th July, 7pm
Here's an example to get you out of those chairs and into the streets.
Each year Totana holds a running race, this year, the XXII Milla Urbana "Ciudad de Totana which is taking place on the 17th July, Saturday evening from 7pm.
The race is 1609 metres for the veterans and 300 metres for the mini benjaminas.
Some have already signed up, INCLUDING A 91 YEAR OLD MAN, VETERAN RUNNER, JULIAN BERNAL MEDIDA, WHO CAME SECOND IN THE VETERANS D CATEGORY IN 2008.
Who says you can't still run a race at 91!!!!
Inscription is free of charge to all runners who inscribe before the 15th July, although anyone turning up on the day can join in, but they will have to pay 10 euros.
There are trophies for winners in each category, and medals, but there won't be any prize money as the council are a bit tight for cash, but nobody cares, this is just a bit of fun, aimed at encouraging more people to lead a healthy lifestyle.
To inscribe, call or fax on 968 42 24 12 or call in at the offices of the Concejal de Deportes in Calle Pliego 5, Totana.
