MTV Murcia Music Night, Caravaca de la Cruz, Mika beamed out to an audience of 600 million worldwide
The 2010 MTV concert is to take place in Caravaca de la Cruz on Saturday July 10th, headlining the fantastic MIKA, BRIT award winner and Grammy nominee, whose coquettishly energetic performance and distinctive voice have brought him worldwide success with great tracks like Love today, Relax, Take it easy and Happy ending.

Sharing the bill is Spanish band Pignoise, a Madrilenean 3 piece, fronted by ex-Real Madrid footballer, Álvaro Benito, who perform a fairly mainstream poppy-rock mix.
Two further acts will join them on-stage, and we'll let you know once the details have been confirmed, the only hints given at todays" presentation of the event being that one of the acts will be a local murcian band.
The Minister for Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz, spoke of the importance of giving up and coming acts the exposure of a world -wide audience, and whoever they name is certainly going to get that as this concert will be beamed into 600 million homes worldwide.
Last years' Cartagena concert was transmitted across the world, into the US, throughout Russia, Japan , Asia and Europe and for the region, represents an opportunity to highlight the name of the Region of Murcia to a worldwide audience.
Caravaca de la Cruz is celebrating its' Jubilee year this year, one of only 5 Holy Cities across the world, hence its' selection as the venue for this years' MTV Murcia Music Night concert.
The event is to be held in the Recinto Ferial, which has a capacity for around 30, 000 attendeees, but as the presence of MIKA is likely to attract a larger audience, the possibility of erecting giant screens alongside the recinto are being explored to accommodate the overflow.
Last year an estimated 35,000 packed the Cuesta in Cartagena for the event in which top bands Amaral and Placebo performed.
A budget of 900,000 euros has been allocated for this years' MTV Murcia Music Night, 200,000 less than last year, with 400,000 destined for production costs and 500,000 for communication expenses.
In response to questions from the press, the Concejal said that he believed the concert was of outstanding promotional value to the region, due to the worldwide coverage it would afford, and in particular, the Holy City of Caravaca de la Cruz.
Last years' concert went on well into the early hours, so if you're thinking of going up and staying overnight, book a room now .
