Saturday March 13th, Gardening Club meeting, 2.30pm

11 / 03 / 2010

Don't forget, Saturday 13th March is the next date for the gardening Club meeting.

Saturday March 13th, Gardening Club meeting, 2.30pmWe'll be back at the Canadas del Romero Old School Hall, which is on top of the hill, just down from the Social Centre where the weekly Car Boot is held, and the meeting starts at 2.30pm.

We've had a lot of questions recently about feeding and fertilizers, so Roy has offered to do a short talk about that, and we've had several emails about wood ash and gardens, so we'll be discussing your queries as a group, and hopefully answering all of your questions.

We also have a few photos which have been sent showing plant problems, so if you've got a problem plant or pest, bring it along and we'll pool our knowledge and see if we can sort it out for you.

On a practical level, we'll be showing you the various ways in which to turn one Oleander plant into dozens, a technique which works equally well on many of the plants growing in our gardens throughout this area of Spain.

As normal, we'll have the swaps table for you to exchange plants, cuttings, seeds, magazines, or produce so bring along whatever you have, and remember, you can't take something off the table without putting something on.

As before, if anyone has surplus citrus, you're welcome to sell them onto other members, we'd certainly like a couple of bags if anyone has any spare as the sheep ate our trees so we don't have a drop of lemon curd in the house this year!

Please bring fold-up chairs if you have them as there are never enough in the School Hall.

Normal entry fee of 2 euros for members and 3 for non-members applies, with the entry including tea and cakes, as well as a ticket for the raffle, which has stacks of fantastic plants for members to win and we're lucky enough to have some excellent end of line Cycas for you as well.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday.
