Description - This is a magnificent route running from the ‘Area Recreativa' (Recreation Area) at La Perdiz deep in the park.
You will set off along the ‘Senda de Dinosaurios' (Path of the Dinosaurs') and join the good forest track heading up along the Leiva Valley (Valle de Leiva). As you progress you will see the formidable cliffs on the right regularly used for climbing by local Spanish as well as others from much further afield.
After arriving at Collado Blanco (White Col) you will be mesmerised by the panoramic views' with mountains all around and a possibility of seeing the Mediterranean in the far distance back the way you came.
After ascending to the Morron de Alhama you will start your descent along the Senda de Caracol (pathof the snail).
The descent will give you spectacular views of the Walls of Leiva from a very different perspective and eventually take you back to La Perdiz.
The walk although mostly on good paths does have some rocky sections and the Senda de Caracol is quite a steep descent.
