What's on Cartagena, Open Track days at the Circuito de Velocidad
We had an email this morning from some bike enthusiasts who called into the Cartagena Circuito de Velocidad yesterday and discovered Relentless, Suzuki, Swan Honda, HM Plant Honda, Robmac, Colin Appleyard and Anstie, Tommy Hill, Carnier, Easton, Kagayama and a bevy of other top riders whizzing around the track on a training weekend.
Much to their incredulity, they were able to wander around , talk to the riders and watch as much as they wanted without anybody taking a blind bit of notice of them.
The track are a little protective about the presence of top riders, and we've moaned before when we've only found out about some of the worlds' top top guys being here the day after they leave, but the circuit has said that they are perfectly happy for the public to come down and watch on these open training days, use the café facilities and sit in the stands and watch what's going on.
This week we have German track eventers and teams in all week training, and at the weekend focused events have riders in for three days operating track days.
If you want to go along and watch, on the 11th, which is the last day of the german week, they have track riding according to programme, Top 8 Superpole and sprint races in the following categories: Supersport and Superstock, with a special Thundersport classification
It's a real privilege here to be able to go along to these days and enjoy being around the bikes and be able to do it in such a relaxed fashion. We've had some really enjoyable mornings out here at the Circuito, so if you love being around bikes you're welcome to just be there.
There's no charge and it's fun to come along and enjoy.
We recently bumped into a lucky group of German Bikers down at the Oasis bar in Bolnuevo, who were having a fantastic time touring around Murcia.
BMW had invited a group of BMW owners to road test the new RRS1000, so a whole group of them were driving around the region of Murcia on matching, gleaming new BMW's , having a fantastic holiday thanks to BMW Bikes.
All right for some!

Tunstall: Evo versus Superbike
Tom Tunstall admits that the decision of which class to race in next season has been made more difficult after a positive test with the Doodson Motorsport Honda team in Cartagena running in both full Superbike and Evo specification guises.
Tunstall completed laps on both specification machinery and believes that the laps times won't be worlds apart at some of the circuits this season, which makes his choice more difficult. However with further track time scheduled in Guadix next week Tunstall is eager to see if a different circuit will produce similar results.
Tunstall told the BSB website: "It has been a really useful experience for the whole team out here in Cartagena as we have been able to use the track time to test both the Superbike and Evo specification bike. We had a slight problem with the radiator on the main Superbike so we never had the chance to string some fast laps together on new tyres, but I was really impressed with the Evo bike as that lapped just 0.4 seconds slower than the Superbike.
"If anything the test here has made the decision to run in Superbike or Superbike Evo more difficult as the pace was not that different at a circuit where you don't need to be on the throttle all the time. This means at places like Cadwell Park, Mallory Park or Knockhill the lap times will be really close between the full Superbikes and the Evo bikes.
"We are now packing up and moving on to Guadix as that circuit has different characteristics so it will hopefully make the decision easier for us. Overall we have really been pleased with the times we have done on both bikes and my lap times on the Superbike were quicker than I have done here in previous years so that is definitely positive."
