Walking in the Region of Murcia, Totana Council walks
26 walkers took part in the Senderismo route organized by Totana Town hall on Sunday, which covered a distance of 14 km in four and a half hours.
The original route should have taken the walkers through the Sierra de La Lavia in Cehegin, but the heavy snow forced the group to choose a different route, so they opted for a walk at a lower altitude and instead chose the Cerro del Castellar nearer to Mula, where the snow had been less intense.
The next walk date is planned for the 14th March and will take in the Sierra de la Almenara in Aguilas.
Pilgrimage walk in the Holy Year to Caravaca de la Cruz
These walks are part of a whole programme of walks which include both a 3 day pilgrimage to the City of Caravaca de la Cruz in its Holy Year, and a one day pilgrimage walk.
The routes are all excellent value, offer the service of an experienced guide, and are a great way to get out there and discover the region on foot.
They are also an excellent opportunity for keen walkers to find routes they would not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy and practice their Spanish.
