The Hotel La Mariposa is run by Mark,  Sam and their two children in the stunning Sierra Espuna, and offers a tranquil haven which can either form the base for an enjoyable holiday, or offer a special retreat for a couple of nights in the heart of the Murcian countryside.

 

Its' location in the center of the Sierra Espuna Regional Park makes it an ideal centre for artists, photographers, walkers  or lovers of beautiful countryside, but it is also a natural choice for those seeking adventure and the hotel itself runs Quad Biking, Mountain Biking  and walking tours, as well as arranging activities with qualified expert guides in the fields of mountaineering, parascending and kayaking. 

 

Quad Tours

The stunning Sierra Espuna offers a wealth of tracks to suit not only those who have never driven a quad before but also the more experienced rider. The emphasis is not so much on speed, as enjoying the wooded hillsides, lunar landscape of the badlands and swooping down deep into pine clad valleys to reach the canals, fertile fruit orchards and jaw dropping lake at the bottom. 

No previous experience is necessary as all of our quads are very easy to handle as they are all automatic and "simple"...We will provide you with full guidance and tuition and the guide is in constant communication with the riders through radio mikes.

We never ask you to drive faster than you are happy to drive, fun is our intention, experience the adventure at your pace, the sheer enjoyment and the beauty of the great outdoors.  

 

Prices

We want to make your experience with us as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, so we include a fabulous 3 course home cooked lunch in the price of our excursions, so you can take your time, relax and enjoy the scenery and the whole experience in a more leisurely fashion. 

1 hr = 35 euros 

1 hr = 2 people on the same bike is 55 euros 

2 hr = 60 euros 

2hr = 2 people on the same bike is 95 euros 

3 hr = 95 euros 

3 hr = 2 people on the same bike is 125 euros

 

 

All of these prices include a 3 course lunch at La Mariposa for each person participating in a quad bike tour.

 

In addition, we offer a really special package for those who want to take a 3 hour tour for a special occasion, so if between 2 and 4 people book a 3 hour tour, each one on their own bike, we throw in a free 4 course lunch, overnight accommodation and breakfast for free!

 

 

Practicalities

General & legal information: 

You must hold a full driving licence (car or bike) in order to use the quads on public highways in Spain. This MUST be produced on the day of the tour.

The law governs age limits for on-road drivers, so please discuss the nature of your requirements with us as we can arrange to take younger riders on totally off-road routes or select routes which will enable younger passengers to have a go off road.

 IMPORTANT::::All quad bikes are legally insured for road use however Personal accident insurance for drivers and passengers is not included.

A contract/disclaimer must be signed before riding the quads.

Sensible footwear & clothing needs to be worn whilst on the quads. (Preferably long trousers and long sleeved tops) 

Helmets are supplied with gloves if needed, during the cooler months bring with you a warm coat. be warned!!! you may get dusty!!

 

Once booked you will be given a time slot, please try to arrive 20 minutes early to complete the forms.

If you need to cancel and give us less than 48 hours notice the 25€ cancellation fee is charged per bike booked.

Directions.... Alhama de Murcia is a large town just off the E15 A7 motorway at the foothills of the Sierra Espuña, from the centre of the town follow the signs for Mula/Pliego, as you enter the village of Gebas the hotel is the 1st building that you come to on the right hand side.

GPS co-ordinates are 37 degrees 53´36. 08N, 1 degree 27´17.42W elevation 405M.
