Veggie growing, participate, don't vegetate!
Veg share scheme, seed sharing, veg growing..
We've talked in a couple of other pieces about growing your own veg in either patio pots or in a veg patch.
One thing we've mentioned several times is seeds, mainly because of the offer being made to us by Suttons, but also because 99% of our own produce is grown from seeds.
We've asked if there might be a member of the club who would consider co-ordinating the veg order, but there's also the possibility for someone to co-ordinate a veg share scheme.
We're quite happy to grow a load of kale to bring to the October meeting, and swap the plantlets for other veg, if other people are willing to grow some other veg plantlets which we can exchange.
However, we're not willing to be the only ones putting in, and everyone else coming along, taking plants away and not bringing anything to the party. There must be other people in this club who enjoy growing a few veg- even if its herbs on their windowsills or a few tomatoes in a grow bag on the back patio.
We'd love to think that someone might like to run a little veg section and maybe be willing to organise the veg competition at our show in May.
You could have your own veg growers table at the club meetings , submit articles for these pages, do some talks about veg at the meetings, run your own competitions within the club structure. Theres so much we could do within the club, but theres only two of us, and we cant do everything.
Come on, put yourselves forward, this is a club, not the Laurence and Zoe gardening cabaret show, participate, don't vegetate!!!!!
