Archena, Mediaeval market 27th to 29th January
27 / 01 / 2012
The market is part of the Moors and Christians Peñas half year celebrations over the weekend.
This weekend Archena are holding a celebration for those who will be partaking in the Moors and Christians celebrations later this year, as well of those for the Virgen de la Salud de Archena.
Although most of what´s going on is for the benefit of the participating peñas, a Mediaeval artesan market is being installed in the Plaza 1er de Mayo, which is being inaugurated Friday evening and will be open throughout the weekend. There are also likely to be groups of ferocious Moors marauding around Archena, so don´t be alarmed if you bump into one on Sunday morning , as the programmes of acts says there will be pasacalles through the main streets of the town on Sunday morning.
There is no indication of how substantial the market is, but if you live nearby, why not pop along and treat yourself to a few artesan goodies.
